On the eastern bank of the Flumendosa basin, in the Santa Barbara locality within the municipality of Villagrande Strisaili, stands the giants' tomb of Pradu Su Chiai, also known as Campu de Pira Onni.
The structure dates back to the period between the Recent Bronze Age and the Final Bronze Age, spanning from the thirteenth to the ninth century BC, and was excavated starting in 1987 following significant damage sustained at the site.
The structure belongs to the isodomic type and is built entirely with squared granite ashlar blocks arranged in receding horizontal courses. The internal burial corridor measures seven meters in length and is paved with stone slabs, while the lintel of the access opening preserves two vertical notches shaped for securing the closing stone, which was originally surmounted by a trapezoidal block featuring a dentil frieze.
The front exedra is defined by a series of slabs positioned on a protruding base that forms a double continuous bench. The body of the burial, ten meters long and four and a half meters wide, features an apsidal rear wall with a circular layout and is externally protected by a row of large perimeter blocks that ensure its structural stability on the granitic terrain of this sector of Sardinian Ogliastra.
