Planargia and Montiferru

Planargia and Montiferru

Volcanic, in the figurative sense, according to Treccani, means: endowed with great imagination and creativity; rich in ideas and initiatives; exuberant, full of vitality.

Well, Planargia and Montiferru are volcanic in every sense of the word. These two regions are the offspring of one of the most important volcanic complexes in all of Sardinia, spanning 700 km², the very architect of a land where today the only thing that explodes is the wonder of those who immerse themselves in the magnetic beauty of its landscapes.
A stunning variety of exuberant natural settings characterizes the entire area. To grasp its authentic spirit, one only needs to gaze upon the tall, dark cliffs plunging into the sea, giving life to enchanting spots like Punta Foghe or the spectacular Capo Nieddu Waterfall; or wander into the lush forests of Sa Roda Manna, where even the trees seem to express their vitality by growing into whimsical, creative shapes.
This is a land born from the fusion of lava and earth, which, in turn, blended harmoniously with human presence, enriched by authentic villages such as Santu Lussurgiu or Bosa—one of Sardinia’s seven Royal Cities, to name just a few.
But Planargia and Montiferru are not only lands of breathtaking, almost Jurassic landscapes; they are also lands of fine wine—everyone has surely heard of Malvasia—of countless nuraghi, necropolises, and ancient traditions; and, of course, of welcoming, secluded beaches.

In short, the charm of this corner of Sardinia will plunge you into a magma of unforgettable emotions, the kind that only a place with such a bold character can offer.
