Neolithic pilgrims arrived at the Giants' tomb of Li Mizzani to sleep on the bare stone and seek healing through dreams. This sepulcher in the countryside of Palau is famous precisely for the ritual of incubation, a therapeutic and spiritual practice that transformed contact with the granite into a direct channel of communication with the ancestors.
The mastery of the builders is immediately evident in the shaping of the central stele. The granite monolith dominates the facade with an impeccable curvature, crafted with technical skill that makes the surfaces smooth and the lines incredibly harmonious. At the base opens the small entrance door, a threshold reduced to the minimum to guard the mystery of the burial chamber and separate the daylight from the penumbra of the afterlife. The exedra widens at the sides like an embrace of stone, delimiting the area where the community gathered to celebrate its dead.
