Legend has it that before us stand two lovers turned to stone while trying to fulfill their dream of love.
These two mighty blocks of pink granite date back to the Pre-Nuragic era (3200â2800 BC) and are linked to the Ozieri culture. The larger monolith, representing the Mother Goddess and known in Sardinian as Sa Sennoredda (âThe Young Ladyâ), rises to 260 cm, while the second, depicting the Bull God, stands at 180 cm.
The Menhirs of Perdas Longas symbolize an ancient community that for centuries found in stone a channel to connect with the divine, the earth, and the universeâin a place, amid the Campidano countryside, that invites reflection, contemplation, and wonder at the timeless mysteries of the past.
Just one piece of advice: avoid visiting this magical site with your partnerâunless youâre willing to risk being turned into menhirs yourselves!
