A barren and silent hill guards the austere majesty of the San Giovanni nuraghe, standing in proud solitude between the open countryside of Villaurbana and the slopes of the ancient volcanic plateau that dominates the vast valley below with its imposing millennial presence spanning the centuries.

This fascinating megalithic structure presents itself as a solid isolated tower with a circular plan, a classic example of a single-tower nuraghe built with large squared blocks of local basalt assembled dry with extraordinary geometric mastery without the use of any chemical binder. The interior, vaulted in a tholos with its characteristic false dome of corbelled steps, bears witness to the construction engineering of the ancient protohistoric communities that stably inhabited these fertile valleys rich in natural resources essential for the daily subsistence of the local people of the era. Although today partially hidden by vegetation enveloping its summit, its majestic bulk tenaciously resists the erosion of time.

Such an ancestral setting offers unique and unrepeatable vibrations, suddenly awakening a visceral love for the deepest secrets jealously guarded by the Sardinian civilization in antiquity.
