Funtana Meiga lies along the central-western coast of the Sinis Peninsula, within the municipality of Cabras and just a short distance from the marine protected area.
The primary value of the village rests in its deep connection to the history and nature of the region. Just steps from the settlement's homes lie the nature reserve of S'Ena Arrubia and, most notably, the archaeological site of Tharros alongside the headland of Capo San Marco. The name itself, which translates in Sardinian to "Healing Spring" or "Miraculous Fountain," stems from a freshwater spring that once emerged among the coastal rocks, valued since antiquity for its supposed restorative properties.
The area's layout makes it an ideal logistical base for sports and outdoor exploration. Sitting in an open position heavily exposed to westerly winds, the location is a regular gathering spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts. In addition, low hills and trails winding along the cliffs offer great routes for hiking and mountain biking with views over the Gulf of Oristano, linking the village directly with the other coves of the Sinis coastline.
