Nuragic Complex Romanzesu

Hey, you there. How many Sanctuary Villages older than 3,000 years have you seen in your lifetime?
If the answer is none, then consider yourself lucky: today fate has led you to this very page, where you’ll find none other than the direct testimony of a charming Nuragic elder, who tells of the magical atmosphere of the village of Romanzesu.

This ancient old man, who lived in one of the huts surrounding the village, speaks of a settlement nestled in a small cork oak forest, where all the structures were built entirely from granite blocks. Among them were circular or oval dwellings—some humble, others larger with multiple rooms and courtyards; several council huts with a central hearth and perimeter steps to sit on; and finally, the sacred area devoted to various pagan rites of the time: two Megaron Temples, a Labyrinth Enclosure used for ritual paths, a shrine featuring three Betili (sacred stones), and, at the heart of it all, the grand Well Temple with its Sacred Spring surrounded by stepped chambers, all embracing a paved square enriched by the revered water—symbol of wealth, spirituality, and a meeting point for people.

Even now, the old Nuragic man gets emotional when he speaks of Romanzesu. And who could blame him? He comes from a time and place so unique that, even today, you can still feel the incredible energy that only this Sanctuary Village can radiate.
